Picture of the Day #6

This picture was taken on 25 February 2015, it was a Teacher's Day that day. Well, the banner in the pictures is our class' name. In my high school, it is a must to create our own class' name because we used it for our class group photo.

On that day, there was an event called "Teacher's Day Photo Challenge" which all students took pictures with the teachers and posted it on instagram with #TDPhotoChallenge. The most creative and the most likers will be the winner. 

We took pictures with our Mandarin teacher, Eddy Chung. The concept was about we slept during his lesson. We join the accelerated class which means it only took 2 years for senior high school instead of 3 years. Most of students from other classes have perception that we always study, study, study, and study because all those 3 years materials were squeezed into 2 years. But in real life, we also sleep in class especially during biology lesson and sometimes we didn't do our homework and just hope that the teacher won't check our work. This is what actually happen inside our class!

He is our multi-talented Biology teacher, Rudi Elisa, we called him Rusa. Just like what I said before, most of us always slept during his lesson because it was too boring and too quiet. He didn't say anything inside our class except "If you guys have question, ask me, I'll answer it". But there was only 1 or 2 persons who asked questions in those 1 hour 30 minutes duration. He is also one of the most killer teacher in my school. But at the end, we convinced the teacher and took a picture with him.

Mr Elisa - The Tug of War

We took a picture with Chemistry teacher, Ros Erni. The concept was we inhaled a very toxic gas which could change us into a zombi.

It is unknown how the gas strengthens the zombies, the gas is not natural, thus the only way the gas can be created at this time is through human intervention, in which, Miss Ros unlawfully has possession of the gas. When the gas fills your lungs, each breath you take sucks your oxygen to a hazardous level in a matter of seconds. Very toxic and reactive. Beware, fellow.

He is our first year Biology teacher, Baharuddin Lika. I like the way he taught us and he often joked during the lesson. Unfortunately, he didn't teach the second and third year students.

Concept : One person act as a dead body and a doctor, Baharuddin Lika, started to investigated him. And the rest act as a shock people because he was dead.

This 3 pictures was taken with our English teacher, Mr. Hapis. He is such a really funny teacher in our school.

The Insanity Attacks. [Scene 1] The now-known martial arts practitioners, Eric and Sir Hapis, had eventually experienced a battle which had the entire nation's attention to watch the highly anticipated match. It was always a fair move well made by Mr. Hapis to apply the Tiger Claw Kung Fu techniques at the start. Expected that his flexible long frame was to fold and prevent him from falling, but unfortunately at that time, Eric failed to make it right. He, therefore, became very red and inflamed. At the same time, Sir Hapis was warned to beware of his opponent. Subsequently, the two then became rivals.

The Insanity Attacks. [Scene 2] Behind the battle by Sir Hapis along with his absolute fight partner, also known as our talented star on this capture, Eric Dennis — everything was filled with hatred, war, and aggression. 

Meanwhile, there came a very strange thing in the very city of their living — people started to support both parties to have another challenges after the day's game. "Such a spectacular fight, we have no idea what's happening between both players, but we believe that the pair resembles each other well. Very impressive! Well done, Men," said a fellow citizen, complimenting on the review session.

The Insanity Attacks. [Scene 3] When the truth defines itself — Congratulations to Mr. Hapis for winning the National Kung Fu Championship Award 2014!

Even Eric was no longer worthy a rival for you, Sir. :-)

He is our headmaster. At first we afraid to take a picture with him, but after we asked him and he allowed, we took this picture.

The unexpected action had then led the society to further certainty under the influence of TV reports ; this had also caused the presence of another supporting cop named Fiona. [p.s this is fictional]

Shortly after the assassination, Felix Putra is arrested by the Dallas police this afternoon and charged with the crime tonight. [p.s this is fictional]

Suspect Captured After Scuffle

The FBI and the Warren Commission officially concluded that Felix was not the lone assassin. He, together with his co-worker, Vincent Hadison, both apparently 33 years old, were also accused of slaying a policewoman who had approached them in the street. Such a cruel and shocking act, cleaners. [Not Based on the True Story]

Lateral Thinking (Week 6)

What is Lateral Thinking ?

Lateral thinking is an ability to think outside the box and solve problems from an unexpected perspective. Lateral thinking involves discarding the obvious, leaving behind traditional modes of thought, and throwing away preconceptions. 

My opinion about lateral thinking

When you solve a lateral thinking quizzes, sometimes you will think in an insane way and feel like you are a genius but you still can't solve the problems. This is what I feel when I try to solve this quiz which I found when I was searching about lateral thinking.

When I looked at this question, I started to think there must be something which is related to number 6 and 8 because both number appear the most. Then I started to guess the number by minus 98 with 88 then get 10 which 1 from 16 and 0 from 06. I don't know why I started to add 1 with 6 then get 7. So I answered 78. Maybe when you read this you will laugh at the way I think of the answer, but truthfully that is how I think. However, I startled when I saw the solution. Thought of "I'm the dumbest people ever" come to my mind. 

So, the right answer is 87

One thing which made me more startled is that this question has been asked for Hong Kong Elementary School Admission Test! This statement makes me become more stupid!

Nice answer! I really don't know how to solve this.

In this lesson, our lecturer gave us some problems to solve. This are 3 out of 6 problems which he gave us.

Answer : match

I have heard about this type of question with the same answer before, but I forgot what is the answer and kept answer wrongly. When I was in that situation, I will light the candle first, spacing out for minutes and light up the oil lamp and firewood. I didn't realized that we must light the match up first before we can light the candle. The answer is funny but it makes sense!

I never thought the answer would be like this!

Well, lateral thinking is a skill that we can learn and the answer is obviously logic, but we don't think the in a basic way but sometimes we think in such a complicated ways.

Reflection of "Edward de Bono - discusses Lateral Thinking™" video

In this video, I strongly agree when Edward de Bono said that creativity is a skill which everyone can learn, not a natural talent which some people have. Like what he said, lots of advances happen through creativity, such as new products, new services, new ways of marketing, and new ways of cutting cost. All these advances are a result from our learning process. It depends on how people put themselves into the learning process and the way they think to create a new idea.

The fact that creativity is a skill is called a lateral thinking. Lateral thinking based on an understanding of the brain. The brain form patterns, patterns form routine ways of doing things and looking at things. He took an example of learning maths. Learn math means you can learn lateral thinking, and learn creativity. In fact that you can use thousand methods with different ways of calculation and comes up with exactly the same results on solving math problems. This is what we call learn lateral thinking and creativity through math.

In a nut shell, lateral thinking is a usable and learnable skill.

Singapore Night Festival

On Friday, 21 August 2015, I went to Singapore Night Festival with my 4 housemates - Angie, Angela, Bessica, and Chesa -. We went out around 18.30 and directly went to eat our dinner at Food Republic. After I finished my dinner, I stopped in front of Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and watched the rehearsal of The Garden of Fire & Light by Starlight Alchemy. I thought the show already started because there were so crowded at that time. After around 30 minutes, I went to SAM 8Q to watch President's Young Talents which was played by Ezzam Rahman. His performance comprised of two parts : Here is who I am and Allow me to introduce myself.

Here is who I am, I am what you see features fragile, miniature flowers sculpted from flakes of dead skin.

Allow me to introduce myself is a performative installation that consist only of shapes molded from talcum powder.

Truthfully, I didn't understand what he was doing inside. However, I startled when he put the powder inside his mouth and started to spill it out. I burst into laughter when suddenly one boy little kid asked her mom "Is he going to die?" and there were also some people who laugh. I didn't watch the whole performance because it was too hot outside. I just read the description about his performance but I still don't get what it is about.

After I met my housemates, we went to Peranakan Museum. I don't even remember the way to go there because it was my first time walked in that area. On my way to there, I took a picture of Le Desir Et La Menace. There were giant birds perching on tree.

After I arrived at Peranakan Museum, we went to Glitter and Glam Makeover, a free eyes makeup and free makeup lesson voucher gift. We could choose which design we like inside the list. This is my first time of my life to put on makeup. It doesn't mean that I don't like being makeup, but I just don't trust the makeover artist.

From Glitter and Glam Makeover, we went to Illuminate which was located at the 1st floor of Peranakan Museum. It was a fascinating display of glow-in-the-dark outfits designed by NAFA fashion students. I really like it how they get their inspiration from and how they create the outfits. The design was really unique and fashionable.

On our way back from Peranakan Museum, we saw a live street performance by New Stream Brass Band. Everyone looks happy and really enjoying the music.

At last, we went to National Design Center to see Digital Art at Your Feet. It was really amazing. I like it!

Overall, I like the festival although it is too crowded and I'm too short! I can't see some of the performance!#shortpeopleproblems
Well, this is my first time attending festival in Singapore, nice!

Mind Mapping (Week 5)

About Mind Mapping

Mind map is a diagram used to organized information. Mind map is created by draw images, lines, symbols, codes from the main idea/image. Through mind map, we could know a person's personalities and activities, ideas from a group discussion or individual idea, or even a future planning, etc.

Mind mapping 

Mind map contains only about 1 or 2 words to describe something so that it is an effective and interesting way to know and understand more in-depth about some information. Mind mapping is created in such a unique way not in paragraph form, but in diagrams and more colorful form.

Activity in class

In this lesson, our lecturer told us to draw mind mapping about ourselves. I don't know what should I discuss about mind mapping actually. Even now I'm still confused what should I write in my blog.

This is mind mapping about myself.

As you can see, this is about myself. As a student, I took fashion design as my major and I studied at accelerated class during my senior high school which only took 2 years instead of 3 years. At first, I just tested if I can passed the test, and I didn't expect that I can join accelerated class. I often used my phone and laptop to do my homework and watch my favorite variety show, Running Man. 

I like hearing korean music and I love everything about Korea. I even learn Korean through internet, drama, and variety shows. That is one reason why I always spend almost all of my past holiday watching korean variety shows.

In a nut shell, mind mapping is one of the interesting way to sum up all information with diagram forms which is similar like a tree shape.

Picture of the Day #5

Well, this picture was taken when we had our class trip to Brastagi, 21st April 2015. This was a 2 days and 1 night trip. At first, my parents didn't allow me to go because it took around 2 hours by bus and there were lots of bus accidents in my city. But, after my friend - Letycia - called and begged my mom, suddenly they allowed me to go. I really thanked my friend because of this!

We gathered around 09.00 WIB at my friend house and waited for the bus. After it arrived, we put all our belongings in and started our first and last journey. On our way to Brastagi, we sang, joked, and flashed back to our first time meeting each other and it felt so awkward when we thought about it. But those noises only lasted for around 1 hour, and we slept for the last 1 hour. 

After we arrived - 11.00 WIB -, we went to a hotel called Mickey Holiday and booked 3 rooms - 2 rooms for girls and 1 room for boys -. After we put all our belongings inside, we directly went to Funland - like an amusement park -.

On the next day, we checked out around 10.00 WIB and directly went to Taman Lumbini. They plant various plantation such as, strawberry, orange, etc. We visited a temple which located inside Taman Lumbini.

After we visited Taman Lumbini, we went to my friend's villa in Green Hill.
