Brainstorming is one way of how you solve problems in an effective method by gathering all different ways of thinking. Brainstorming can be applied in both individual and group works. It gives both advantages and disadvantages in the middle of the progress. Brainstorming let people to come up with more interesting, crazy, even unworkable ideas.

The significant differences between individual brainstorming and group brainstorming is the amount of members in group. The more members in a group, the better it is. In a group, when one member gets stuck in one idea, the other members can help and give other relevant ideas. This advantage only can be find through group brainstorming. On the other hand, in individual brainstorming, we don't need to worry about what other people think and their opinions. In group, we sometimes considered a lot whether our personal idea is good or not, but when it comes to individual brainstorm, this personal idea can turn out into a special idea.
In this lesson, our lecturer gave us homework about "101 Ways to Break a Glass". We did brainstorming in 4 members group. We shared our ideas in a chat room, and wrote it in Mahjong Paper. There were some crazy ideas which I like such as, loan it to Naomi Champbell when she is in bad mood, put $100 inside and throw it into crowded, fart on it, turn on radio, etc. Even though some of those ideas weren't workable, but it doesn't mean that we can't come up with those type of ideas. Nevertheless, those ideas give a plus point in brainstorming process.

During our brainstorming lesson, our lecturer asked us an unexpected question, "What is your role as a designer or an artist?". Although it was a group work, but all 4 of us struggled a lot. All of us came up with basic and common ideas instead of unique and out of the box ideas. Even though all of us choose our path as a designer or an artist, but this question still make us think twice. I personally ask myself, why I choose to become a fashion designer? Why? Is it just because I like anything about fashion/fabrics/sewing/etc?. And until this time I still can't answer this question. Our role to become a designer or an artist not only to create something which is comfortable for people or to inspire people, but there is other role which is more important than these.

After we finished discussing about the role as a designer or an artist, our lecturer, Ezzam Rahman, told us to gather in front of the Lim Hak Tai Gallery. He gave instructions to lay down on the ground. At first, I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. We laid down and wrote everything what we feel. As I faced the sky, the only one thing that I could see is clouds. The weather was so hot that day and the sun shines brightly. When I looked at the sky, I felt so lonely, and so small. I imagined if there was nobody in this world and we live alone, do everything by ourselves, and no one want to help us, I thought this world would be very scary.
After a few minutes, he told us to face side view with our view as flat as possible with the ground. At this point, I could feel the hard surface of the ground. All feelings that I could feel is loneliness. Why as a human we can feel this kind of feeling? Even ants walk in groups when they are searching for food. Therefore, we need to keep trying our best and never give up in any conditions.
