| Selective Attention Test Video - TheFreeHelpGuy Edition |
This video main purpose is to test our attention towards the video. Before they play the video, they give us question - How many times the players wearing white pass the football? - which we are going to answer it later. Then, after we answer the first question, they will ask an unexpected question - Did you see the suicidal man? - which most of people who watch the video can't answer the question. In my opinion, the reason why we can't answer is because our brain only sees the major things so we don't pay attention to anything else. Instead of watching all black and white football players inside the video, we just look and pay more attention to the white football players. If the question change into "How many times the players wearing black pass the football?" , maybe only 50% of them can answer the question. But, if we rewind the video we can exactly notice the suicidal man pass by and standing still in the middle of the game. Why? It is because we are looking for the suicidal man this time. In a nut shell, it is possible for our brain to focus on both important things, but most of us just only focus on one thing which is more important.
